How is eyebrow tattooing done and do we need it?
What is the essence of the procedure?
Many people confuse tattooing with permanent make-up. The procedure of applying permanent make-up by micropigmentation is ‘permanent make-up’. The differences between the procedures lie in the apparatus used, the depth of dye injection, and durability.
Tattooing lasts longer due to the fact that the dye is injected deep into the skin. In cosmetic tattoo, the pigment penetrates to a level of up to 0.5 mm between the epidermis and the dermis. This is a very shallow depth, so the result can be easily removed with a laser.
What are the techniques of eyebrow tattooing?

Which type is right for whom?
If you have a naturally clear shape and normal width, choose the powder (watercolour) technique with soft blending. It will give your eyebrows fullness and density.
If the eyebrows are very sparse and require correction, the master can combine two techniques, powder and hair, which will help to correct the problem of sparse hairs and remove asymmetry.
How is the pigment chosen?
For eyebrow tattoo, colourants based on glycerin are used. It dissolves in the body and is completely harmless. With the colour there is nothing unusual, the master simply selects the pigment under your skin and hair colour. Ideally, the shade should differ from your hair colour by just one tone – slightly darker for blondes and a tone lighter for brunettes.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure can be divided into several stages. The first is preparation. Two weeks you do not pluck and do not paint your eyebrows, so that the master saw the natural colour and shape. In a day you need to refuse alcohol and coffee, as well as some medications. Then, in fact, the procedure itself – drawing a sketch and its approval. At this stage, you can still make adjustments, but then it will be too late. The third stage is anaesthesia. And the last – the introduction of pigment, drawing. As a rule, it takes from one to three hours, depending on the complexity of the correction.
What care is necessary after?
In the first two days it is necessary to treat the skin with chlorhexidine, then – use ointment on the recommendation of the master. Until complete healing should not do peeling on the treated surface, visit the pool, sauna, solarium and gym. In fact, everything is like after a regular tattoo.
How painful is it?
Painfulness depends on your pain threshold, the chosen technique, professionalism of the master and psychological mood. Usually the patient feels almost no pain – new generation anaesthetics are used.
Is it necessary to renew such eyebrows?
Yes, permanent make-up requires correction. After healing, the shade is usually lighter, so after a month a second session is scheduled: the master corrects possible mistakes and flaws, renews the colour. If necessary, correction is carried out later, about a year later, as over time the pigmented area fades.
Is it worth doing tattooing at all?
You should be prepared for the fact that all this time your eyebrows will have the same shape, because tattooing completely comes off after about five years. That’s why you should approach the choice of a master very responsibly, because to correct such work is not easy and not the cheapest.
